What are products?
Products are items that the end user can buy in addition to a seat ticket, such as merchandising, food or drinks.
When configuring them, several settings let us have:
Detailed publication: the product can be published on the channels, events and sessions we choose.
Two pickup options:
- At the same place where the event is held (for example, concert T-shirts handed out on the day).
- At a different location from the event, or at a specific spot inside a venue.
If we need to specify the pickup location, or it is different from the event’s, we will have to create a Delivery Point.

1. Creating the product
Go to Products → My products → + New product and fill in all the requested information:
- Simple or variable products: Simple products don’t let the user choose any feature. Variable products have selectable options, such as size or colour.
- Limited or unlimited stock: Use Limited for products we have a set quantity of, and Unlimited for products that will always be available.
- Limited and independent: Stock is set separately for each session in which the product is sold.
To select “Limited and independent” stock, the product must be set as Simple.
2. Configuring the product
2.1 General Data
2.1.1 Main information
In the “Main information” tab we can add languages, change the product’s internal name and switch its status from “Inactive” to “Active”.
2.1.2 Configuration for Simple products
A simple product is configured with a short form containing the price, reference and stock fields. The stock field only appears if the product is limited.
2.1.3 Configuration for Variable products
There are three concepts to understand here:
- Attribute: a feature of the product (size, colour, dimensions…).
- Value: each option an attribute can have (all the sizes of a T-shirt, all its colours…).
- Variant: every possible combination of a product’s attributes and values (T-shirt, Red, Size L / T-shirt, Green, Size S…).
When setting up variants, you are first asked for the Attribute. Enter the feature you want and add it by clicking “+ ADD ATTRIBUTE”.
Once the attribute is added, click Next and you will be asked for the options (Values) of the attributes.
Once created, we can set the price of each variant, add an internal reference and enable or disable it.
In the Literals tab we can change the attribute names. If the product has more than one language, we can give each variant a different name in each language.
2.2 Taxes
In this tab we can set the tax that will apply to our products.
Note: The tax we add does not change the final price. It is included in it.
2.3 Communication
In the Communication section we can add the images we want and the text for the product description. This appears on the sales portal and on the purchase ticket.
2.3.1 Channel Content
Channel Content sets everything that appears on the web portal.
2.3.2 Ticket Content
Ticket Content sets what appears on the ticket once the purchase is made. Here we specify the Product name and the Delivery point details.
The ticket shows the text set in Communication, the delivery point information and the product price. It also has a barcode and a QR code for validation later.
2.4 Delivery
In this section we set when the purchased products can be picked up. There are two options:
- Delivery based on the session: for pickup at the same venue as the event. You set the time from/until which the product can be collected.
- Delivery based on the time of purchase: to set a delivery point different from the one set at session level, and the time from/until which the product can be collected after the purchase.
2.5 Events
Here we choose the events that will show the configured products once tickets are added to the cart.
- Add the event from our entity.
- Assign all sessions, or choose specific ones.
- Publish the product.
2.6 Channels
In this section we add every channel where we want the products to appear. On the left, in the “Channels +” section, add all the channels you want for that product.
The same Channel Configuration tab has two checkboxes that turn each type of sale on or off in the selected channels:
- Integrated into the sales process: the product is shown as a suggestion in a step before the purchase is completed.
- In a separate sales process: the product stays linked to a specific session but is sold in a separate sales process.
As long as “Integrated into the sales process” is ticked, the product will be shown even if it isn’t in any cross-sell at channel level.
In the Preview section we can go straight to the sessions where this product will be available.
2.7 Activating the product
Once the product is fully configured, go back to the General Data tab and activate it.
If the configuration is not complete, the process tells us why the product can’t be activated.
3. Purchase receipt
Once the product sale is completed, the user receives the purchase summary. It includes the original ticket, the product and the pickup details.
4. Validating the product
To validate these products, download the “OB ACCESS CONTROL” app on a mobile device. It is available on Android and iOS.
Read the app’s article first to understand how the mobile app works.
After logging in to the app with your user, go to Settings → Connection Mode → Delivery Control in the first tab and tap Save.
The next screen shows all our delivery points. Select the one you want and tap “Finish”. You can now validate your products!
Validated products show the product information along with all of its configured variants.
5. Sales
In CPanel, the Sales tab has a “Products” section with the sales history of our products. We can filter by date and product, and export a list.
Each transaction’s details show the customer who made the purchase, the amount paid and an option to preview the ticket as a PDF (View Tickets).
